Shear class: 206 goals for Newcastle, 173 more for Southampton and Blackburn, plus 30 for England. A total of 409 goals in 733 top-level games - Alan Shearer's record speaks for itself. But what do Alan's many fans have to say about their hero?

This unique tribute to the England hero and Geordie legend looks at Alan's brilliant career through the eyes of fanzine, website and terrace writers. Crammed with goals, games and wonderful memories, it is a fantastic celebration of a true football great - Our Alan, Wor Al.

The book contains more than 30 features written by some of Shearer's biggest fans, plus illustration sketches by "Football Weekly" artist, Tony O'Donnell.

The winner of the Wor Al superfan competition was Mary Pegden from Gosport. Mary wins a Shearer testimonial goody bag containing a much sought-after official testimonial scarf, 'Alan Shearer: Legend' DVD, Unofficial Football World Championships book, Burglar's Dog book, and Burglar's Dog enamel badge. The four runners-up were David Bosher of Hebburn, Jack Walton of York, Kate Carnaby of Ashington, and Barry Hindmarch of Washington. They all receive Burglar's Dog books. Congratulations to all of the winners. The question was: Which goalkeeper conceded Alan Shearer's 206th Newcastle united goal? The answer was: Kelvin Davis. That was Shearer's last competitive goal, a penalty against Sunderland.
